Getting Started with Young Living Essential Oils

Happy Friday, friends!

I know it’s been a while since I posted something, but I’ve been working on a few things that have required some extra attention, and I’ve been focusing a little more on family- so please forgive me.

I didn’t plan to post anything today, but I decided to pop in and do a quick little post on how to get started using Young Living Essential Oils.

I know most of you are familiar with them, and at this point either already use them or have no interest- but I have had enough people asking me about them to take the time to do this.

So here we go! 🙂

First of all, it’s super simple getting started- so if you’re interested in getting started, you can hop on over to Young Living and follow the simple steps & use Member# 1932473! But if you need a refresher on how it works, and the benefits- read on! I will also include step-by-step instructions on how to fill everything out!

Independent Distributor as Customer (Save 24% with Wholesale Pricing)

This type of membership is signed up as “Independent Distributor” and requires the purchase of a starter kit, which you can choose for yourself. They are great kits that range in price from $45 to $260. You only have to purchase a starter kit once, at sign up – and they are useful. The Premium Starter Kit ($160) is a great value, not just because it’s at the top price tier but because you get roughly $300 worth of product! This kit comes with a diffuser (I love mine!) and includes eleven different bottles of oil to get you started, a roll-on attachment, 10 samples packets, 10 sample bottles, and materials to help you become familiar with oils and how to use them. If a diffuser isn’t something you’re interested in, or you already know what things you’d like to order, the Basic Starter Kit ($45) is a great way to get in and then you can begin ordering the products you want at wholesale right away.

Independent Distributor as Business (Save 24% with Wholesale Pricing)

This type of membership is with the intent of making an income! It is similar to the information above, with a few changes. If you love essential oils, chances are that you already share what you know with friends and family. By being a distributor, you can earn a commission when those people (and more!) buy oils from you, or sign up under you. Just like being a wholesale customer, you are required to purchase a starter kit, which range in price from $45 to $260 (depending on diffuser choice). You only have to purchase a starter kit once (same as above). If you wish to earn a commission check, you must also be enrolled in the “Essential Rewards” program. In addition to making a commission and being eligible for payment, you also earn Essential Rewards points that can be redeemed for free products. These points are great for buying gifts, having stock on hand, or treating yourself to something special.

The first thing to remember is that signing up does not obligate you to anything. You will never pay membership fees and you will never be obligated to make a purchase that you don’t want. When you sign up with Young Living essential oils, it is an opportunity for you to explore without worry.

Choose a Starter Kit

You’ve decided that membership is the way for you. That’s great! That means that you will instantly start saving 24% on the products you love to use.

Kits range in price from $45, all the way up to $260. You can choose any kit. If you already own a lot of oils and a great YL diffuser, you may only need the $40 kit to get you in the door. Step 1 – Once on the page:

• Be sure that “member” is selected. (Unless you do not want the 24% discount and would prefer to sign up as a customer.)
• Check off: “A member referred me, and I have his or her information.” The member number should read: 1932473
• Fill out your personal information and check that you understand the Terms & Conditions. (This page does ask for your social. The reason it needs this is for legal tax purposes, because you have the ability to earn an income.)
• Choose a username, password and PIN. Be sure to write these down somewhere safe! You will need them to log in and/or call Young Living’s member services.

Step 2 – Select Your Kit!

• If you’d like to maximize your savings, select any “Premium Starter Kit”. These kits are the ones with the Premium Essential Oils Collection, diffuser, extras, and business starter kit. The other kits do not include the Premium Essential Oils Collection (10 oils).
• If you’re not worried about the additional savings, select any kit that speaks to you.

Step 3 – Essential Rewards (Optional)

Essential Rewards (ER) is an optional discount program within Young Living. You can choose to sign up now, later, or not at all. By enrolling in ER, you will earn up to 20% back on purchases (starting at 10% and increasing as you stay in the program) as points, which can be redeemed for free oils.

• If you would like to enroll in ER, you may choose a kit at this time.
• If you would rather not enroll at this time (or you would, but would prefer to choose specific products, as opposed to a kit) you can simply select “No, thank you” and you may enroll at any time by logging into your Virtual Office.

Step 4 – Shipping and Billing

• Enter your payment information and continue to complete your signup and purchase.
• You will have an opportunity to double check all of your information and this will be used when you make purchases moving forward. (You can change it at any time by logging into your Virtual Office.)
• Click “Activate and Place Order” button, and you are done!

Your membership is all set to go and will remain active so long as you spend at least $50 in a calendar year (on anything you choose.) There are no membership fees or additional requirements.

Young Living Essential Oils- April Order

Today I am excited to write to you about one of my favorite topics. ESSENTIAL OILS!

If you’re familiar with me at all, you probably know by now that my family uses essential oils daily for whatever we can use them for. We’ve been incorporating the oils into our daily routines for some time now, and we’ve learned so much about them.

I have a lot of people constantly asking me about Essential Oils, what I order monthly and what we use them for. I decided that this month I would do a blog on my order. I am not going to go into explaining what essential oils are, or why I choose to use Young Living in this post (I will go back & do a detailed post on YLEO some other time) but I am going to go through my order, why I ordered it and how much it cost.

Lets get started!! 

Here is a picture of everything I am going to cover. It was a BIG order this month- but I should probably mention that it isn’t all for me. Every month I have family hop on with me, it helps with shipping cost & increases my PV. The higher PV I have a month, the more F R E E stuff I get & EVERYONE loves free stuff!

Peppermint 21.50/28.29

In our house, we use peppermint for a variety of things- headaches, tummy aches… it’s good for so much but this bottle was purchased especially for the “Weight Loss Trio” (A combination of oils thought to aide in weight loss). The peppermint in the trio is said to help curb the appetite.

Lemon 11.25/14.80

Two bottles of lemon were purchased this month. Lemon is one of the oils I use the most. We use to help with cleaning, allergies and so much more. The first bottle of lemon was purchased to also go with the “Weight Loss Trio”. Lemon is known to be a good detox oil and is supposed to be used in the “Weight Loss Trio” for just that! The other bottle was purchased to use for the “Allergy Trio”. (A combination of oils thought to help ease the irritations of allergies)

Grapefruit 16.75/22.04

Grapefruit is a delicious smelling oil- it is uplifting and makes me feel good. The scent is lighter than some of the other citrus oils, in my opinion. It makes my mouth water every time I smell it. This bottle of grapefruit is the final oil in the “Weight Loss Trio” and it said to help boost your metabolism.

Lavender 23.50/30.92

Lavender is another one we use constantly. Between all the boo boos, and helping us sleep we go through some lavender! It’s so gentle and light and great for so much. It is also in the “Allergy Trio” and exactly why we ran out this last time. We actually ended up with two bottles this month because I got a 5ml bottle for free with the April promo!

Stress Away 29.75/31.25

Stress Away isn’t one I use often, but I have several family members that love it. This was actually purchased for headaches, even though Toby uses it for body aches. You’ll notice that even when an oil might typically be used for one thing- other people use it for different things & that’s one of the reasons this oil journey is so fun!

Orange 10.75/14.14

Orange was a new one for me this order. Every order I try to include one new Single and one new Blend to help build up our collection. I didn’t really need it for anything, but I’ve read great things about it, and it was very inexpensive. It smells AMAZING. Someone mentioned combining Cedarwood & Orange– oh yes! I passed out, it made me so sleepy. I have been loving that combo at night.

Gathering 29.75/39.14

Gathering was my new Blend for the month. I had never even heard of Gathering until I went to the Spring Fling Expo earlier in the month & it came up on my Zyto Scan. It is said that it helps calm a chaotic environment and if anyone qualifies to try it out- I figure I make the perfect candidate! I have only used it one time, and it was kind of strong. I just did one drop on my right wrist and didn’t even bother doing a drop on the other because it was so intense. It has a very unique smell, and I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet.

Valor Unavailable

If you are familiar with oils, I am sure you had Valor on your order this month too because it is going away from a while! 😦 Luckily this is on my order every month so I currently have two unopened bottles and my current bottle is about half full! When I first got into oils, Valor was included in the Premium Starter Kit (I wish it still was!) and I did not like it at all!! But now I use ALL the time. It is one of my favorites. I’m kind of stingy with this oil, and basically only use it on myself. I am usually very open about sharing all of my oils with anyone interested…but not this one. I use it when I practice yoga & it’s a very comforting scent to me and I kind of like having one oil all to myself.

Peace and Calming Unavailable

More sadness– Peace and Calming is also Out Of Stock for a while and again, if you order every month, I am sure this was on your order as well! I almost didn’t get this one, but luckily my order had not processed yet when they made the announcement and I got one! In my opinion, Peace and Calming is a fantastic oil for children, and I know so many mothers rely on it, so I honestly hope they get it back in stock soon. I love it! It also was in the PSK when I first signed on with YL and I know those who restock on the Every Day Oil collection probably wish it was still included.

Aside from the oils, I also got some other goodies this month.

Ningxia Red 2oz. Packets (30 count) 84.50/111.18

NingXia Red is an antioxidant drink that contains whole Ningxia wolfberry puree (blueberry, aronia, cherry, pomegranate, and plum juices) orange, yuzu, lemon, and tangerine essential oils, and some other good stuff that I can’t think of. But it’s loaded with goodness. This is used for our family as an alternative for coffee, and you only need an ounce or two in the morning to get you going. It does come in bottles, but we ordered pouches for easy travel. We also use it when we get sick, an extra ounce or two to help battle all the yuckies!

Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste 9.22/12.14

This is a new one for us. I am currently on a journey in my home to rid of us chemically consumed products (I have a blog coming on the transition) and one of the things I got rid of a while ago was toothpaste. But the one I was using wasn’t leaving me feeling very fresh, so I decided to give this a go. I do like it- but it is taking some getting used to because it doesn’t suds up like a typical toothpaste. I might try a different one next time, just to see what else YL offers, but I do like this!

Thieves Spray 3 Pack 23.75/39.14

I have been wanting these for SO long- but they are always out of stock whenever I go to order. So this month I was finally just going to break down and get the Single Bottle and then the promo for this month was a THREE pack! So I didn’t have to add it my order, and I got THREE FOR FREE. I am so excited to finally have this stuff. If you don’t know anything about Thieves- it’s amazing. It is our go-to oil and we use it everyday. We firmly believe in it and having it with me to cleanse and purify on the go excites me!! Some people use Lysol, we use Thieves… When we’ve got germs floating around or we go to the doctor, or get in a buggy… you can bet that I will now have my Thieves spray in hand!

Great Kids Snacks Subscription Box

Hey guys! Happy Friday!!

I know I haven’t posted anything recently, but I have had a sick little this week- thankfully she is feeling much better & hopefully will be able to enjoy her weekend.

So I do have a bunch of new things sitting at my house just waiting to be written about but I couldn’t wait any longer to talk about this AMAZING box we got a couple of weeks ago.

If you keep up with me, you know that I am always trying to get me and my family to live healthier in all aspects. We have come a LOOONG way, but still have a lot of improving to do- especially in the food department. It is super easy to eat unhealthy, and so I have really been striving to find us healthy alternatives. When I came across Great Kids Snacks, I just knew I had to get the box! It was exactly what I was searching for. A healthy snack box geared towards kids. I have been sent a few different types of healthy snack boxes, but not any that Tegan really clicked with. But Healthy Kids Snacks is full of fun, brightly packaged, yummy, HEALTHY treats for the kiddos!

WHAT IS GREAT KIDS SNACKS
Great Kids Snacks was founded by a guy named Kyle, who was chaperoning a field trip to the zoo when at lunch time he was shockingly surprised by the quality food these children had been provided. Instead of shaming these parents, he realized that choosing healthy, child friendly snacks can be a challenge. He took it upon himself to create a company that will provide children with 30 healthy, fun snacks. That’s a snack a day! Not only is he providing children with delicious and beneficial treats, but he’s helping out parents who might not otherwise know what to choose- or have the time to search.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
Great Kids Snacks is one of the more pricey boxes that you will find, but where most boxes only ship 4-8 items, GKS provides you with 30!

It is 39.95 a month and includes free shipping.

THE STAFF
The only person I spoke with was Kyle, the owner and he is wonderful! He is super friendly, very upfront about what he expects and someone I enjoyed ordering from. He is very good about responding to my emails and has been extremely helpful.

Y’all, I am going to be blown away when I eventually run into someone who isn’t pleasant to work with because so far everyone involved in these reviews has been great.

WHATS INSIDE
I don’t know that I am actually going to be able to list what all is inside because it is SO much! But I am going to try my best to include it all.

So to give you an idea of how well thought out this box is, here is a look of everything all together. CRAZY, right?

Ricky’s Lucky Nuts
REAL STICKS

So based off Amazon pricing, Ricky’s Lucky Nuts retail for a little over $2.00 per package. They are all natural, USA grown peanuts, GMO free and the packaging is made from recycled materials. Y’all know recycling is ALWAYS a bonus for me!
The REAL STICKS according to Amazon retail for about a $1.50. My biggest excitement over this is that it’s Gluten Free. So I may have taken this from her box for myself.

Fruit Me Up

Going off of Amazon, Fruit Me Up retails for a little over $3.00 per pouch. These little pouches are 100% fruit sauce. They do not contain any preservatives, coloring or any added sugars. Tegan is a BIG fan of these.

Apple-Licious
Fruit Strips
Weird Banana Thing 

Okay, so starting with the Apple-Licious- we have not eaten it yet, but according to Amazon it retails for about $2.95 a piece. It is also Gluten Free, no preservatives, or added sugars. It seems like some sort of gummy treat, that I am sure T will like. The next thing is the Fruit Strips, according to Amazon they go for about $3.00 for a box of 8 strips. We’ve had these in the past, and I don’t think we were a fan because we haven’t gotten them since– but they are worth another try! And I apologize for calling that last one a “Weird banana thing” but in the unboxing video you will see me open it to inspect- not a fan! I couldn’t remember what it was called, and I couldn’t tell by the picture. So mysterious banana gummy log- I have failed you.

MacroLife Naturals 

So I was super excited to get these two samples of these little supplements that you just add to liquid. I have been looking for something along these lines for Tegan to try. I can’t really give you a clear idea of how much these samples go for- but I know a container of this stuff runs about $40 for 14oz of powder.

Detour Smart Bars

Whole grain oatmeal bars, mixed with real fruit and drizzled with Greek yogurt. I think this is a great idea to give as a dessert in a lunch box. These retail at about a $1.50.

I am not going to list all of these spreads, but they included a good variety. Chocolate soy spread- Coconut butter… if you are looking for some alternatives to peanut butter, this was definitely the box! So much to try!

Home Free Gluten Free Cookies

Confession Time: I know this box was for my baby girl- but when I saw GLUTEN FREE VANILLA COOKIES in that box, I instantly knew I would be digging into those. And I did. Actually ate them as I was editing the video for this box. They did not disappoint and I will continue to buy them. They go for less than a $1.50 per bag. SO GOOD.

Snikiddy All Natural Baked Fries 

Tegan hasn’t eaten these yet, but I know she’s going to like them because she’s had some similar in the past and devoured them. These go for about $3.00 They look so yummy!!

Good Health Veggie Straws

These guys go for about a $1.00 a bag and they are a family favorite. You can’t go wrong with veggie straws!

SuperEats Kale+Chia Chips

These chips look so yummy. Non GMO, Gluten Free, and I have read that they are full of flavor. We are fans of kale, so I imagine we will enjoy these. They retail for about $1.65 a bag.

Buddha Bowl Himalayan Pink 

This a larger size bag of gluten free, non GMO, organic pop corn. I am hoping we get into this bag tonight. This was one of the first things that caught my eye when digging into the box and I have been very anxious to try it. It retails for almost $4.00

These little treats are very toddler friendly, and good for the car. So if you’re like me and you keep snacks packed for the car, this is a great one. You get TWO of these, too! They go for about $3.00 a bag and come in different flavors. 100% fruits and veggies- so if you have a picky eater, this is definitely worth a try to get some goodness into them. They are soft, and dissolve, so good for littles!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF GREAT KIDS SNACKS
That’s a lot of goodies!! I know I listed a few things that we haven’t tried yet, but that is a lot of snacking to get too and I could have said they were all great and been done with it- but some of them weren’t so great, and others we loved and will continue to buy. This is a fantastic box and I know it’s kind of expensive- but I urge you to try it at least once! And just for fun, I did a quick little round up of the prices I listed which wasn’t even everything and it came out to $43.49- that’s MORE than the box and doesn’t include everything! So I think GKS is an awesome company and they deserve your business.

Today I am going to be reviewing an awesome, little box of fun- Graze!

WHAT IS GRAZE

To put it simply- graze is P I M P E D out trail mix.
And how it got started is awesome.

Graze is a company started by a group of friends who loved to snack, but were tired of the same old chips and candy. So they decided to quit their jobs, devised a plan & created something delicious! They now have over 1 0 0 snacks to choose from that you can receive weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. They work with small suppliers who also love food, so you’re guaranteed the best quality. Also, the varieties are endless! (sweet, savory, calorie counter…) Every snack has a benefit to your body, and you can even customize your orders with their Trash It, Love It, Like It, Try It system. You can also toss out items that may contain wheat or nuts. However, these treats are manufactured in a facility with milk, wheat, nuts and other ingredients that you need to be mindful of if you have severe allergies.

And to be perfectly honest, the majority of the snacks sent contain gluten so I won’t be able to eat them. Good thing I’m not the only one in my house who loves food!

This is actually a great snack box for Tegan because of the portion size I received and the contents. Definitely snacks I would like to continue receiving so she has more healthy choices. The pouches they arrive in are also perfect for slipping into lunchboxes. So Toby is going to have some extra treats this week!

When I got home the other night I was super surprised to see these guys chillin’ on the table. They were so cute! The packaging looked like recycled material & they also ask you recycle to the boxes. That is a BIG plus for me!

I quickly opened both of them & made a video because I was so excited to get into them.

As you can see, each box comes with F O U R snacks. I ordered the sweet treats because I LOVE sweets! So I thought this might be a healthier way to get in my sweet fix. Each box also comes with a card full of coupons & on the back the nutrition facts, ingredients and expiration dates are listed. Each snack has a totally different flavor. Some will be a mix of sweet & salty, much like the Cinnamon Pretzel snack box. While others will be more fruity, like the Cherries & Berries.

One I am super excited to try is Chai Latte

HOW DO YOU LIKE GRAZE

I think it’s a fantastic box! I love the healthy choices you’re given, and it makes snacking feel less guilty when you know you’re getting benefits from what you’re eating. I like all of the different options. I also enjoy the fact that I don’t have to wait once a month to receive it. There was something in our box for everyone. It’s cost efficient. It’s fun, and it’s good for you!

Herbal Bliss Subscription Box

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend- we did, it was busy, but we are always busy! (hints the name)

So today I wanted to talk about this wonderful subscription box I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago. This was my first experience with any subscription box- and they set the bar very high for any box I receive from this point on. This is also my first review for a subscription box, and I already wish I would have planned better to do this differently. But I hope being new to all of this doesn’t take away from how great this box actually is.

Today I have the great pleasure of writing about the Herbal Bliss Box!

Herbal Bliss is a subscription box that features a variety of herb-based/all natural products. Each box contains 5 samples- but they are very gracious samples in my opinion!  They choose their samples based on five different categories.(aromatherapy, blissful body, culinary, well being, and a spotlight product) If you visit their site, you can read that most of the suppliers are small family-owned businesses and I love that!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST  

This is often one the very first questions I get asked when talking about subscription boxes- and the truth is, they all vary!
For this particular box, you have F O U R different options.

1 Month- $25
3 Months- $66 ($22 a box)
6 Months- $120 ($20 a box)
12 Months- $216 ($18 a box)

So obviously if you sign up for a larger subscription, you are going to save some money. Which $18 a box for the high quality, hand crafted products you are getting is a fantastic deal!

THE STAFF 

Before I get to the box, I would like to make note that the staff is INCREDIBLY friendly. They were swift in responding to my emails, very accommodating, and extremely kind. That good foundation makes me want to continue with their services.

WHATS INSIDE

So this is the box that I got in the mail. It fit perfectly in my mailbox. They did a nice job of getting it all nice a beat up for me before delivery- but nothing was damaged because it is nicely packed inside. I thought the packaging was cute, and the box was pretty heavy. I couldn’t wait to look inside!

There is something so awesome about a box of mystery when these boxes come in the mail.

Here you see five items, but underneath the small red envelope is another item- by the way, the envelope contains product cards with the full size price of the item listed. As we go on, you’ll see just how much this box is worth.

ITEM ONE  
Texas Olive Ranch/Cowgirl Brands Hill County Herb Garden Olive Oil

So I was super excited about receiving this particular item because I really enjoy cooking, and I like the idea of using natural products- and those things can add up, especially when you use them a lot. This item retails full size at $14.95 but you get a healthy size bottle to try out, so you will know for sure by the time you get done with it if you could see yourself buying it or not. I have already used it several times, and I really enjoy it. It was a nice color, it’s smooth and it’s perfect for slow cooking sausage in spices and herbs. I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

ITEM TWO
South Austin People (SoAP) Natural Liquid Soap

I have been on a quest to try and live a little greener. Over the past several months we have gotten rid of many chemically consumed products and have been trading them in for something a little better for us. From my make up, to my cleaning products, I have tried to go as natural as possible. Toby and I even ventured into soap making, and it was a blast- but I could only do bar soap. I could never perfect liquid, but I prefer to use liquid- but now I do not have to look any longer because I have found the soap for me! This box could have had this product alone and I would have been satisfied. As you can tell from the picture- I have been using this since I got it. I LOVE IT. It smells amazing- a good earhty scent, it works great, it has a nice lather- and if you’re familiar with natural soaps, a good lather is hard to get. So I was super impressed. This product retails full size at $8.00 and it’s totally worth it. I will be ordering some to replace mine when I run out.

ITEM THREE
3 Girls Holistic Cleansing Grains Facial Scrub

So I honestly can’t say too much about this item yet, because I haven’t used it. I was really pumped to get it, but I am highly sensitive to grains and oats & I felt it would be best to check with my doctor before using a product like this, but if I can’t use it, I have a friend that wants to try it. This product retails full size at $22.00 and I think that is a good price judging off the product card alone. It removes oxidized oil, dead skin cells, and dirt without being too harsh on your skin- which is something I could really use. And the neat thing is that you can use it on it’s own, or pair it with the SoAP mentioned above!

ITEM FOUR
Dreaming Earth Aromatherapy Sampler Kit

This is a nice little set and I am surprised it counted as ONE item! Again- look at the size of these “samples” -very generous. This sampler kit includes lotion, oil, and THREE samples of essential oil. I made an unboxing video of this (I will link below) and you hear me say I am excited about the “perfumes“. It wasn’t until after that I was able to read the product cards that I saw they were samples of Essential Oils, and the lotion and oils in the larger bottles were sent as carriers. I thought these were wonderful items to pair together because I am very big into essential oils and I have to stress the importance of diluting oils to people all the time, so I appreciate them taking that into consideration. This kit retails at $10.00 and that is a VERY good deal!

ITEM FIVE
Divine Creationz White Sage Smudge Spray

This is the final, and probably the coolest product in the box. WHITE SAGE SMUDGING SPRAY. I honestly didn’t know what it was at first, I thought they had sent some body mist & I just opened it right up and sprayed it! It wasn’t until I smelt it, that I hit me what it was. If you’re like me- I pray a lot, I am big into yoga, so I am always trying to keep good vibes going our way– and this is a great way to smudge your home without smoke, or ashes…and you can do it anywhere! The office, hotels, hospitals… it’s discrete but effective and totally awesome. This retails full size for $11.39 but I believe it comes as a full size item- how cool is that?

I have to say, I didn’t know what to expect but I am pleasantly  surprised and would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is remotely into herbal/green living. It was neat to learn about other companies and discover new products I never knew existed.
